In the descriptions, you'll find what separates them. "Metal" is signed with a straight index finger while "glass" is signed with a bent index finger.

My ASB professor said that metal is signed under the chin with the index finger bent and brushing the skin under the chin going outwards.

I think the sign they have under "trash" on this site is the correct sign for metal. The above sign looks like what I've seen for "glass" bent finger or not
