BRAVO ASL! lesson 12 also has the sign for THROB. It is very similar to SWELL, but instead of 'stopping' when the hand rises, the dominant hand moves up and down (near the throbbing area) and the hand changes from a "claw-hand" when it is up to a "flat-hand" when it is down near the hurt area.

The BRAVO sign is less exaggerated. Remember that this can be a "locational" sign, not limited to the arm. When not at the arm, you CAN use both hands to show the swelling, as appropriate.
