sorry - the sign I was referring to with the point on the head is Germany. The new sign for Russia looks like the sign "dry" but then you drop your hand down. apologies!!

Yes, I have seen it signed with the index finger moving under the nose (like dry) then pointing abruptly downward.

I learned the new sign about 8 years ago in ITP. The index finger wiping across the chin, not nose, as if wiping off vodka. I think this is less PC than the sign shown above which represents the Russian dance.

Last night in ASL I class, our Deaf teacher told us that this was the old sign for Russia. She put her fist at the top of her head with her index finger pointing up and said that was the sign we were to use.
