Let's meet the instructors. Hello. Hello. Hello. I'm Marta Belsky. And I'm Brenda Cartwright. We are two of the owners of Signing Savvy, which is an online resource for learning ASL. The two of us create the content and curriculum for Signing Savvy. I have a master's degree in deaf education and for the last 35 years I've been teaching ASL and deaf culture. I taught introduction through advanced ASL classes. I also coordinated interpreting services at a large university. For the last 35 years, I've been a certified interpreter and teacher, and I was in charge of an ITP program where I taught ASL and interpreting. I have a bachelor's and a master's degree in deaf education, and I have also written several textbooks about ASL and interpreting. I'm deaf. I grew up in a deaf family. I have deaf parents, sister and grandparents. I went to a mainstream program and a residential school and Galedet University. I love sharing my language and culture. I'm a CODA and CODA means that my parents are deaf. I grew up signing and I'm married to a deaf person, so I'm still involved in the deaf community and I use ASL every day. Signing Savvy is thrilled to offer ASL lessons and a variety of learning tools. I hope that you all enjoy learning our beautiful language and culture.
