In this lesson, we will discuss the accessibility features of this course. Often, sign language courses are taught, “voice off” , meaning there is no speaking, just signing, since speaking is NOT part of sign language. But, for this course, we have added voice-over to make the course more accessible for hearing audiences that are learning ASL as a second language. All of the important information is visible on-screen within the lessons, so you can turn off the sound and be voice off if desired. We have also included “closed captioning” to make the course more accessible. This feature can be toggled on or off. Your operating system or web browser may support live captions, which you may find helpful to turn on, as well. This is usually done in your Accessibility settings. Overall, we have tried to make this course as accessible as possible to support all types of learners.
