the kiss of the back of the hand does express love, but the movement of the fist could be misunderstood as you try to give a fist to someone! I wonder if there is alternate way to sign "love or admire".

This variation of love is really meant more for a passion for an object like a type of chocolate are a favorite vacation spot....not generally used to refer to people.
