I have seen this sign made (without hands pulling outward as far) and then sign 'animal' immediately afterwards. Animal is 'signed' because this sign can also represent mask.

The hands do not have to move so far outward. (Unfortunately, I've also seen an initialized sign with 'R'-hand starting near the nose and arcing underneath the eyes.)
