if I wanted to sign the name Batman would I first sign bat then man?

I've never seen batman signed that way.  I have seen the sign for SUPERHERO followed by fingerspelling batman when introducing the topic, then only fingerspelling batman in each instance after.

In Signed English you could do it that way...

If you were using SIgned English you could sign BAT and then MAN, but in ASL you would do as Debbie said and sign SUPERHERO and then have to fingerspell BATMAN.
