As a speech-language therapist who helps children learn sign and speech depending on a family's choice, I was pleased when 10-12 years ago, the sign for 'speech' changed from a crooked finger V shape to straight fingers. Because bent fingers often have a derrogatory/negative connotation, I thought the straight finger version was more culturally sensitive to the fact many hearing and hard of hearing people using speech. I hope the editors will include this version soon on this wonderful website!
