I know a few english people who sign and the way they sign it is different.

It was like the sign for Lesbian (L on chin, slanted), but you curve your index finger to form your face (slightly bent, like you're doing an "X" with the index)..

Not sure if anyone else would agree. I've been told this video is very English (meaning that's how the hearing community uses it)

I am not sure what your are referring to here? The L hand in our video for the word Lesbian IS an L hand, not an X. If the finger looks bent it is just a reflection. As for the sign for English, this is one variation. Another variation is the same handshape but just with the top hand coming down on the back of the other and not pulling them both toward the body. We will add that video when we can. Thanks
